Lisle, Il – Durham School Services driver Sergio Duenas from San Bernardino, CA (competing in transit) placed second. He had won third place in the same category in 2018. Sergio has been a driver with Durham for eight and a half years. He acts as a behind the wheel trainer for recently hired drivers and prides himself in mastering driving to perfection.

NSTA’s Golden Merit Award was established in 1969 to recognize school bus employees for their achievements in safety, driver training, business practice, vehicle maintenance and superior service to their school district, community and the student transportation industry.
