The award recognizes excellence in service, safety, and community responsibility, as well as achievements in operational areas such as safety, driver training, and maintenance.
Brookhaven, NY – Durham School Services (DSS), a leader in student transportation, donated a school bus to the Sound Beach Fire Department to use for extrication safety training, which took place in late June. During the training, firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) simulated various school bus accident scenarios where they rescued victims, played by their junior firefighter members (local youth in the community). This donation is one of several made this summer to local fire departments in and around the Brookhaven community.
Phoenix, AZ – National Express Transit (NEXT) is proud to announce that Reno Navarette, Vice President of Customer Success, has been re-appointed to serve on the Arizona Transit Association’s (AzTA) Board of Directors for a three-year term. AzTA is a statewide, not-for-profit association that represents the public and private sectors, including Valley Metro, the regional transit system in and around Phoenix, in advocacy and education for public transportation services and programs.
Greenville, SC– National Express LLC (NELLC) continues to be a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) field through its participation in EV maintenance training hosted by Proterra, a leading manufacturer in electric transit buses. This participation further supports National Express’ transition to an all zero-emission fleet by 2040.
Philadelphia, PA – National Express LLC (NELLC) has donated a school bus to Pennco Tech, a trade school in Blackwood, NJ, to use as a vital training tool for their Diesel Technology Program. The trade school offers diesel, automotive, and collision repair programs, among other trades. The donation, made as part of NELLC’s company-wide Partners Beyond the Bus community outreach program, will allow Pennco Tech students to gain hands-on learning experience working on school buses.
